Microsoft’s latest operating system, called Windows 8, will be unveiled as a “beta” edition tomorrow, February 29, according to USA Today. The consumer version is expected in September or October 2012.

“[Windows 8 is] perhaps the most important piece of software the Redmond, Washington, company has designed since co-founder Bill Gates won the contract to build the first operating system for IBM Corp.’s personal computer in the early 1980s.”
