Microstock leader Shutterstock has publicly launched a new high-end brand called Offset. The name is intended “to celebrate creativity that’s unique and different — off set from the rest.”

“Welcome to Offset — a new, curated collection of extraordinary, engaging imagery from top artists and storytellers around the world.”

A preview version of Offset was released in March 2013 and on October 8, 2013 the site became “officially open to the public.”

“Offset is aimed at disrupting the marketplace for high-end content, and offers authentic, sophisticated imagery and a simple, transparent licensing model.”

Pricing is significantly higher, at $250 for small images and $500 for large images. You can apply as a contributor.

Every image is hand-selected by a team of curators who seek out exceptional imagery with these specific qualities:
  • NARRATIVE: Beautiful images that tell a story alone or together
  • AUTHENTIC: Authentic and natural looking images
  • SOPHISTICATED: Contemporary art direction and style
