Nokia Lumia 1020: 41MP smartphone
Smartphones are displacing point-and-shoot cameras, and now they’re challenging DSLR cameras. The new Nokia Lumia 1020 sports a massive 41MP sensor for amazing detail, although the intention is to oversample for cleaner, sharper 5MP-like images.
“Simply put, the camera is stunning. … We were also very impressed by the vast amount of detail in every shot.”

Following on from the landmark Nokia 808 PureView 41MP smartphone 17 months ago, the Lumia 1020 is Nokia’s first high-resolution, Windows-based, phone/camera available in the U.S.
Specifications:
- 1/1.5-inch sensor
- Zeiss-branded f/2.2 lens
- Xenon flash
- Optical image stabilization
- 4.5" display
- 28mm equivalent focal length for 4:3
“… the closest thing to a DSLR-like imaging experience on a smartphone.”
— Engadget
“Capture full resolution photos, zoom into details and reframe them as new images you can share with friends. Adjust focus, white balance and exposure with easy, intuitive controls.”
— Nokia
