This Leica M3D from 1955 sold for $2.19 million
The world’s most expensive commercially produced camera is now a Leica M3D, which sold this week for $2.19 million. Built in 1955, it is one of four ever made and was was used to document the life of Pablo Picasso.
Owned by 96-year-old former Life magazine photographer David Douglas Duncan, the Leica M3D was sold by the WestLicht gallery in Vienna, Austria.
