One trillion photos taken in 2015
One trillion is a big number, and now it’s the number of photos taken in a year. That is a lot. In fact, that’s ten times more than fifteen years ago. Much of the rise is due to the cameraphone, which accounts for about 80% of all photos taken in 2015.
“This year, according to the market research firm InfoTrends, global consumers will take more than one trillion digital photos.”
— Stephen Heyman, The New York Times, July 29, 2015
