New iPad coming March 16
Apple’s third-generation iPad will debut next Friday. Called the “new iPad” rather than the expected “iPad 3,” the improved tablet computer will sport a better display, a better camera, and a faster processor.
Photographers can use the popular portable device on the road for photo review, touch-up, and display. The new screen is the same physical size but with four times the resolution. The 2048 x 1536 pixel ‘Retina’ display is powered by a quad-core graphics processor. Meanwhile, the back camera becomes a 5MP back-lit CMOS camera with a five-element f/2.4 lens. And iPhoto becomes available on the iPad for $5.
The operating systems has been updated to iOS 5.1 and features a redesigned Camera app with video stabilisation technology, and the ability to delete photos from Photo Stream.
“iPhoto includes breakthrough Multi-Touch features so you can use simple gestures to sort through hundreds of photos and find your best shots, enhance and retouch your images using fingertip brushes and share stunning photo journals with iCloud.”
