National Geographic Photo Contest 2012
An ethereal black-and-white image of the Matterhorn from Zermatt, Switzerland, has made Nenad Saljic the Places Winner in the National Geographic Photo Contest 2012.
Over 22,000 photos were submitted for awards in three categories — people, places and nature. The guidelines for entries required that photographs be un-manipulated and real. The overall winner, Ashley Vincent of Chonburi, Thailand, won a $10,000 prize and trip to National Geographic’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. Here’s his photo:
