| The Face of Half Dome This shot is taken from Stoneman Meadow where the imposing face of Half Dome towers 4,863 feet above you. This is similar to Ansel Adams' first classic wilderness image, Monolith, the face of Half Dome, taken from half way up Half Dome in 1927. Half Dome is the last valley feature to see the light of the setting sun. The gray rock turns a deep auburn at this time (no filter was used in this shot). |
