The Golden Gate Bridge Nothing conveys more the romance of the Bay Area than the Golden Gate Bridge. Majestically leaping across the entrance to San Francisco Bay, the bridge (built in 1937) connects the city (behind) with Marin County to the north. This shot is taken from the Marin headlands from an old gun emplacement called Battery Spencer. Conzelman Road winds along the edge of the headlands and provides several classic viewpoints.
