| Big Sur Coastline and Bixby Creek Bridge The 90-mile section of State Highway 1 between Carmel and San Simeon, often called Big Sur, is considered one of the most dramatic coastal roads in the U.S. As the rooad twists and turns, it caresses wild headlands and clings to cliffs that plunge almost vertically into the Pacific Ocean. The most classic view is from a turnout one mile south of Bixby Bridge. This shot uses spring wildflowers for a foreground. |
