Wine Country Less than an hour's drive north of San Francisco are the twin valleys of Napa and Sonoma - the Wine Country. Over 200 individual wineries easily distract willing tourists with tours and tastings. The most spectacular winery is the Louis XV-style chateau of Domain Carneros. Built in 1988 it is modeled after the owning Tattinger family's ancestral home in Champagne, France. The winery is in Carneros Valley, which connects the towns of Napa and Sonoma.
