| Point Bonita Lighthouse Three miles west from the Golden Gate Bridge, guarding the entrance to San Francisco Bay, is Point Bonita Lighthouse. Barraged by winter storms and enveloped in summer fog this was never a pleasant location and many lighthouse keepers resigned or went crazy. The lighthouse can be visited via a trail, tunnel and a 180-foot long steel suspension bridge. This shot is taken in the late afternoon from the parking are just north. You'll need a rare clear day for a photograph. |
