| Placer County Courthouse in Old Auburn A miserable rainstorm was raging as I drove along I-80. I stopped off at Auburn, the most-visited Gold Rush town, to find this magnificent courthouse built in 1894. Just as I arrived, a gap opened in the clouds and a narrow beam of afternoon light lit the northwest face. Using a 35mm lens I captured the stunning effect on this imposing edifice. |
